Wengen in winter has nothing to envy to Wengen in summer, offering almost 500 kilometers of trails and hiking trails. It also has a wide range of activities for the more adventurous: canyoning, rafting or paragliding are some of them.
Chambery, France
Chambery is one of the best preserved medieval towns in all the Alps. Without a doubt, it is an ideal getaway idea to enjoy both in summer, strolling through its bright and colorful streets, and in winter, which promises fairytale landscapes covered in snow. It has a wide range of restaurants where you can enjoy French cuisine, among other highlights such as the striking Fontaine des Éléphants, built in 1838, or the sundial dating from the 19th century.
Hallstatt, Austria
It is no surprise that Hallstatt is the favorite destination of many travelers around the world, as any image of the town is comparable to a postcard out of a fairy tale. Located on the shores of a lake, the towering mountains that surround it are home to ice caves, an exclusivity that only a few places in the world can boast. Although the ice cave is closed in winter season, the upper areas such as Dachstein mountain and alpine huts are a great alternative available in colder times.
Fussen, Bavaria, Germany
You may not know Fussen as a mountain destination but rather as your favorite violin maker, but looking at its mountainous landscape, it would be a big mistake not to include it as one of the top destinations on this list. Situated at the southern end of the Romantic Road with some 700 years of history, Fussen truly looks like it was hand painted by a great artist. Another dazzling feature of this town is Neuschwanstein Castle, which you are probably familiar with - Germany's most photographed structure served as the inspiration for Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt is home to one of the most famous peaks in the world, the Matterhorn, which rises over the border between Switzerland and Italy at almost 4,500 meters. In fact, it is one of the most photographed mountains on the entire planet. For the more adventurous and sporty there is the possibility of climbing it, while for those who prefer to enjoy its imposing views, you can also reach the top via a cable car. An ideal destination again for ski lovers, as Zermatt allows skiing on the top of its glaciers all year round.
Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

The steep slopes and uninterrupted sight lines of its ski slopes have not only been the scene of several Hollywood movies, but they promise exciting days practicing skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding and ice skating; or even hiking and biking in the summer. After intense days of sports, be amazed by the lively nightlife of Cortina d’Ampezzo.
Bled, Slovenia

The lake surrounded by alpine mountains rises to a Disney postcard, while Bled Castle is located on a small island in the heart of glacial blue waters, a sight that begs to be photographed at dawn. The 12th-century castle also houses a museum collection, a printing press, a wine cellar and a restaurant. Furthermore, the mountains of Bled are also a great option for hiking and other sports.

The town of Metsovo is located on the mountainside under Katara Col, in the Pindos mountain range, and is one of the most beautiful destinations in the entire country. It is surrounded by a dense fir forest full of traditional stone and wood houses, historic buildings and numerous restaurants where you can enjoy classic Greek cuisine.
Reine, Norway
This small fishing village may be one of the most beautiful in the world. Located on the island of Moskenesoya, north of the Arctic Circle in the Lofoten archipelago, this town stands out thanks to its sapphire bays that sit on the edge of high mountains and towering Norwegian fjords. If you want to live a 360º experience, we invite you to stay in a traditional fisherman's cabin, which will guarantee you magnificent views of the sea and the night sky, also including the Northern Lights if the ideal conditions are met.
